Dr. Marshaun R. Hymon is the Co-Founder and Principal of True Change Alliance, LLC (TCA). He works to develop leaders and organizations that cultivate maximum employee impact. Prior to expanding and co-founding TCA, he was an independent consultant supporting varies organizations implement and codify their DEI strategy.
Dr. Hymon is an avid podcaster. Most recently, he was a featured on the Los Angeles, CA based Podcast, Motivation for Black People and the Savannah, GA based podcast, Music (ed) Matters. He curates the "DARE Diversity in Music" podcast series for the Music (ed) Matters Podcast.
Dr. Hymon has worked in several capacities within the higher education and non-profit sector. He began his career in K-12 public school as a music educator and has served in many capacities with the Tallahassee, Savannah, and Jacksonville Children's Choirs.
Dr. Hymon earned a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from Florida State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. He earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests are race in America, identity development and the impact of music on the schooling success of young Black men. Dr. Hymon has been invited to present his research at conferences at the district, state, and national levels. Most recently, he was a featured speaker at the 2022 Equity and Human Rights Conference in Los Angeles, CA.
Dr. Hymon is excited about the recent release of the Book, "The Business of Choir" where he served as a contributing author. He wrote the chapter entitled, Diversity in your Organization's DNA."
